Men's Tennis wins Olivet Singles Invitational

(Battle Creek, MI) Concordia Men's Tennis closed out their regular season at the Olivet Singles Invitational on Saturday. The Cardinals won the invitational over the Grace Christian Tigers and Olivet Comets, only losing one of the nine matches they played in.  

 

 

Paul Vocu defeated his Grace Christian opponent in the #1 slot (6-0, 6-2), before falling to Olivet in a three set match (3-6, 6-3, 9-11).

 

In the #2 flight, Phillip Curry beat the Tigers (6-2, 6-0), and defeated his Comet opponent (7-6 (7-2), 6-2).

 

Ethan Szabados won the #3 flight, only dropping three games between his two matches. He beat his Grace Christian opponent (6-2, 6-0) and Olivet opponent (6-1, 6-0).

 

Ethan Hiltz came out victorious in the #4 flight, taking down Grace Christian (6-2, 6-0) and Olivet (6-1).

 

Andrew Todd only had one match in the final flight, defeating his Tiger opponent (6-2, 6-1).  

 

 

The Cardinals will now enter postseason play as the #7 seed in the WHAC. They will square off against #2 Indiana Tech in the WHAC Quarterfinals on Wednesday, April 26th, at the Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center in Lima, Ohio.
