Concordia Men's Tennis has rounded out the regular season and will enter the WHAC Tournament on Wednesday. The Cardinals secured the #7 seed in the conference, and will go up against #2 Indiana Tech at 10:00 AM.

About the Warriors

Indiana Tech enters the postseason as the second seeded team in the conference. They went 5-1 in the WHAC, only falling to the top seeded Racers from UNOH. The Warriors have a bevy of international talent, boasting players from four different continents. Juan Avellaneda, Jorge Rodriguez, Tyler Sinclair, and Michel Zobel all have over 8 wins in singles matches this season. Matt Coomer is the head coach for the Warriors.

 

About the Cardinals

The Cardinals come into the tournament with an 0-6 record in the WHAC and 2-10 record overall, with a pair of wins over Olivet. Phillip Curry leads the Cardinals with 3 wins in singles competition, followed by Ethan Szabados and Ethan Hiltz with two each. Most recently, the Cardinals won the Olivet Singles Invitational with Curry, Szabados, and Hiltz all winning both of their matches to earn the title. Paul Vocu and Andrew Todd each won a match at the Invitational as well. Dean Boodakian is the head coach for Concordia, now in his fourth season.

 

Previous Matchup

These two sides last met on April 18th in Ann Arbor for a conference match. The Warriors would come away with a 5-1 victory, with Gibson Wilke winning the lone Cardinal point via default. The Warriors swept the Cardinals in each of the single and doubles matches, except for #3 singles where Ethan Szabados won a pair of games before ultimately falling.
