Men's Indoor Track and Field competes at Doug Hansen Invite

(University Center, Mich.) Concordia men's track and field traveled to University Center to compete in the Doug Hansen Open hosted by Saginaw Valley State University on Friday. 

 

Senior sprinter Kash Warren (Lorain, OH) lead the way for the team, running 7.05 in the 60m dash, earning him a National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) qualifying spot as well as a personal best time. Warren also went on to run 23.68 in the 200m. Fellow sprinter Jordan Foy (Freshman; Colombia, SC) joined Warren in both events, running 7.41 in the 60m , and 24.44 in the 200m. This was Foy's first meet as a Cardinal. Freshman Scott Smith (Saginaw, MI) also competed in the 200m for Concordia, crossing the line at 24.94 in his collegiate debut. Rounding out the sprint squad was freshman Logan Hay (Houston, TX). Hay raced in the 400m in his first race as a Cardinal, winning his heat and running 55.99. 

 

The distance trio of Luke Bentz (Fort Wayne, IN), Theodore Eising (Royal Oak, MI), and Avery Sanchez (Allen Park, MI), all ran the 800m. Bentz lead the way in a time of 2:08.84, with Eising running 2:13.66 and Sanchez running 2:19.63. Sanchez also went on to run a personal best in the 3,000m, crossing the line at 10:35.30. 

 

On the field side, senior Zachary Yoder (Mt. Pleasant, MI) took third in the high jumping, clearing 1.83m. Yoder also competed in the long jump, jumping 5.31m.Junior thrower Zachary Belinsky (Beulah, MI) competed in both the weight throw and shot put. He saw tosses of 12.63m in the weight throw and 11.99m in the shot put. Freshman ToRohn Yancey (Detroit, MI) saw a personal best throw in the shot put, tossing 11.27m. Yancey also competed in the weight throw where he threw 8.95m. He was joined by fellow thrower Joshua Wood (Sophomore; Champagne, IL). Wood threw 7.38m in the weight throw and 6.39m in the shot put. Rounding out the throws was Smith, who saw a personal best in the weight throw with a toss of 10.17. He also competed in the shot put, throwing 9.66m.
