(Ann Arbor, MI) - The National Christian College Athletic Association hosts the 2022 Indoor Track & Field National Championships this weekend and the Concordia Cardinals Track & Field team is sending 13 athletes to compete in 14 total events. The event will get underway Friday with field events beginning at 3 pm.

On the Men's side, seven different athletes are competing throughout several different events on the weekend. In the field events, we will see Zachary Yoder compete in the High Jump, in which he qualified in the first meet of the season with a jump of 1.81m. Also qualifying at the Oiler Open was Richard Branch in the Shot Put with a throw of 13.21m and Zachary Belinsky with a toss of 12.95m in the weight throw.

At the Doug Hansen Invitational in January, Kash Warren clinched his NCCAA bid in the 60m with a run of 7.05. Last weekend's Red, White, and Blue Classic also saw Branch hit a mark once again in the shot put with a throw of 13.93m.

Belinsky and Warren will also be competing in the shot put and the 200m race respectively. Belinsky's top shot put throw of the season was a throw of 12.45m meters. Warren's fastest time in the 200m was 24.11.

On the women's side, two Cardinals started right away earning their qualifying mark for the Championships as Lena Korte set a mark in the shot put with a throw of 11.51m and Sierra Stechebar in the High Jump with a 1.47m jump.

At the Cardinal's home event last Friday, Korte added the weight throw as another event she will be competing in this weekend, as she had a throw of 13.22m. Gabriela Porter clinched her NCCAA qualifying mark in the 800m race as she ran a season-best time of 2:30.07.

Adding another event for Stechbar is the triple jump, in which her longest jump of the season is a 9.33m jump last weekend.

In the relay events, the Cardinals will send two relay teams to compete. On the women's side Porter, Liz Trent, Lydia Schroeder, and Chloe Gunter will all compete in the 4x800m race, while Warren will be joined by Logan Hay, Luke Bentz, and Andrew Wiemer for the 4x400m race on the men's side.
