(Ann Arbor, MI) - The College Sport Communicators (CSC) released their 2022-23 Academic All-District winners on Tuesday afternoon and three Concordia Cardinals were named CSC Academic All-District team members.

The three Cardinals named to the CSC All-District team were Luke Bentz, Noah Starkey, and Scott Smith

Bentz, a sophomore from Fort Wayne, Indiana, is in the Family Life program and has a GPA of 4.00.

Starkey, a senior from Macomb, Michigan, is in the Athletic Training program and has an accumulative GPA of 3.89.

Smith, a sophomore from Saginaw, Michigan, is studying Applied Theology and has a cumulative GPA of 3.73.

The 2023 Academic All-District Track and Field Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

College Sport Communicators is a 3,200+ member national association for strategic, creative, and digital communicators across intercollegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. The organization was previously known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and was changed to its new name in August of 2022.

Nominees for the All-District team must have participated in at least 50% of the team's matches throughout the season while also maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.50. The student-athlete must also complete one full calendar year at the institution and reach sophomore athletic eligibility in order to qualify for the honor.

Both Cardinals will now be placed on the ballot for CSC All-America consideration with those teams being released on June 28th.
