Six Cardinals named to NCCAA Softball All-Region Team

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their regional softball awards and six Cardinals were recognized with All-Region honors. The trio of Faith Cramton, Katie Tobias, and Elyse Brittain were named to the First Team, while Maddy Grueter, Payton Lewis, and Paige Anderson were given Honorable Mention honors. 

 

First Team All-Region

Faith Cramton | Jr | Canton, Michigan

The Cardinal First Baseman makes her first appearance on the All-Region Team after a standout season for Concordia. Cramton was ninth in the NCCAA in doubles with 16 and led the team with a batting average of .448 which was 16th in the NCCAA among qualified hitters. 

 

Katie Tobias | Gr | Battle Creek, Michigan

Concordia's everyday catcher made her third straight NCCAA All-Region team this season. Katie Tobias led the team in RBI with 44, which put her at 13th in the NCCAA. She was also tied for the team lead with 7 home runs which was 13th in the NCCAA. 

 

Elyse Brittain | Sr | Lansing, Michigan

Earning her first NCCAA All-Regional honor, Brittain tallied six home runs on the year, which was 25th in the NCCAA. Brittain also pitched 60.1 innings this season with a 3-5 record and a pair of saves, which were fifth most in the NCCAA.  

 

Honorable Mention

Maddy Grueter | Sr | Kalamazoo, Michigan

The Cardinal Third Baseman receives her second NCCAA All-Region honor of her career. Grueter tallied 45 hits this season with 11 doubles and 3 home runs. In the year she recorded a batting average of .349. 

 

Payton Lewis | Sr | Vicksburg, Michigan

This season marks the fourth consecutive year Lewis has been named to an NCCAA All-Region team. Lewis crossed the plate 43 times this season, which was 18th in the NCCAA, while recording 51 hits. 

 

Paige Anderson | Sr | Davison, Michigan

The Cardinal ace recorded an 11-8 record this season with a 3.03 ERA. Her 11 wins was tied for 12 most in the NCCAA and pitched her way to 3 shutout wins, which was 7th in the NCCAA. This is Anderson's second career All-Region honor.
