Women Lacrosse falls in offensive battle with Georgetown
(Georgetown, KY) - Concordia women's lacrosse remained on the road with a contest at Georgetown on Monday afternoon. The game featured strong offense by both teams, but the Tigers pulled away late for a 16-12 win.  
 
Michaela Ullery played a complete game in net with 5 saves. Isabella Komarowski opened scoring just 15 seconds into the game with Madleine Turcotte assisting. Georgetown countered with 3 straight goals until Turcotte notched a free position marker. The teams traded goals with Brynn O'Neil scoring with 12 seconds left off a Madisyn Fox helper. CUAA trailed 4-3 after the first quarter. 
Georgetown started the second quarter with 2 goals, but a free position marker by Tara Drinane started a Cardinal rally. Madisyn Fox found the back of the net and Cecelia Gibson notched a powerplay goal to tie the game 6-6. Isabella Komarowski added her second marker and Megan Soop had a shorthanded goal in the last minute. CUAA led 8-7 at halftime.  
 
Georgetown recorded 5 straight goals to take the lead in the third quarter. Isabella Komarowski ended the run by completing her hat trick off an assist from Ceceilia Gibson. CUAA trailed 12-9 after the third quarter.  
Komarowski tacked on her 4th goal with Mariessa Zarazua assisting to start the fourth quarter. Cecelia Gibson had an unassisted marker and Komarowski notched her 5th goal with a helper by Savanna Schmidt. However, Georgetown held on and the Cardinals fell 16-12.  
 
Concordia will travel to #7 Missouri Baptist on March 5th at 3pm.
