Women's Track & Field hosts Alumni Legacy Meet as Final Tune Up

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The women's track and field team hosted their Alumni Legacy Invite on Friday, April 26, and Saturday, April 27. The team came away with 7 personal record efforts and 3 debuts.

Lena Korte (Junior; Clinton, MI) continued to be one of the top throwers in the area, winning both shot put and javelin. Korte secured the win in the shot put with a toss of 35.15 meters. She then went on to win the hammer with a throw of 43.41 meters.

The 100 hurdles saw two personal records set and one debut. As Jayde Ullenbruch (Freshman; Port Huron, MI) ran 16.10. Olivia Tomlinson (Freshman; Caro, MI) also ran a new personal best time of 18.56 seconds. Madisyn Flamini (Sophomore; Fowlerville, MI) made her collegiate debut at the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.99 seconds.

Elizabeth Hines (Freshman; Ypsilanti, MI)  and Jenna Oberly (Freshman; Westland, MI) ran to new personal records in the 800-meter run. Hines led the way by finishing in eighth place with a total time of 2:38. Oberly earned a couple of seconds improvement to finish in 3:12. Grace Finley (Freshman; Monroe, MI) made her collegiate debut in the 800 with a finishing time of 2:48.

In field events, Maya Freeman (Freshman; Port Huron, MI) threw a new personal record in discus with a throw of 29.13 meters. Hailey Stasiukinas (Junior; Wyoming, MI) threw 9.03 meters in shot put, to earn a new personal record. Quinn Stefanski (Junior; Munger, MI) made her collegiate debut in javelin and set a mark of 23.66 meters.

The team now gears up for the WHAC Championships on Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3 at Indiana Tech.
