Luis Gomez repeated for the second straight week as MSFA Mideast Special Teams Player of the Week and earned the award on the . The freshman kicker drilled the game-winning 35-yard field goal in overtime to secure a 17-14 victory for the Cardinals. Gomez also added 2 PATs in the win.
Gabe Whitmore was named MSFA Mideast Defensive Player of the Week. The freshman defensive back recorded 7 tackles in last week's win over Taylor, 6 of which were solo. Whitmore also made a key interception in Taylor's endzone during the game.
NAIA Football FirstDown Playbook Top 25 Poll
Concordia was ranked #6 in the latest edition of the Football FirstDown Playbook Top 25 poll. In the MSFA Mideast, Marian checks at #9 followed by Saint Francis (IN) at #12. MSFA Midwest leader Olivet Nazarene is #14 after a 6-0 start. Saint Xavier dropped to the #18 ranking and Roosevelt fell two spots to #22.
