(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia football is preparing this week to defend their 5-0 record when they travel to Indiana Wesleyan this Saturday. The Cardinals advanced to fifth in the latest edition of the NAIA Football FirstDown Playbook Top 25 poll. The Wildcats have a 2-3 overall record on the year, earning a 23-0 victory over Taylor last week. Concordia leads the all-time series 2-0, claiming a 28-17 victory in the teams' meeting last year.

Seeger DeGayner received MSFA Mideast Special Teams Player of the Week honors. The freshman made an explosive play to start the Madonna victory last week, breaking a 90-yard return for a touchdown on the opening kickoff. DeGayner also recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and had four tackles on special teams.

Concordia moved up one more spot to the #5 ranking in this week's poll. Marian dropped one spot to #10 while Saint Francis (IN) improved one place to #11. MSFA Midwest leader Olivet Nazarene improved by one to #13 and Roosevelt moved up a spot to #21. Saint Xavier and Saint Ambrose are both receiving votes.
