Men's Soccer plays Alma to 2-2 draw

 

(Alma, MI) – Concordia men's soccer traveled to Alma on Sunday afternoon for a non-conference clash.   The game was closely contested with the teams playing to a 2-2 draw.

 

Kyri Wixom played a complete game in net with 2 saves.  Nicholas Kiafoulis took the first shot on goal for Concordia.  The Cardinals continued attacking and scored in the 21st minute when Carter Kerbawy fired a low shot in net with Chander Wilson assisting.  Alma responded with a goal less than a minute later and the teams faced a 1-1 draw at halftime.

Concordia retook the lead in the 52nd minute when Marcello Pinterpe snuck a shot in the goal with Clemens Gehlich drawing the assist.  The Scots tied the game again with a goal in the 66th minute.  The Cardinals nearly scored a go-ahead marker late in the game, but the goal was disallowed.  The game would end in a 2-2 draw.

 

Concordia will return home to host Goshen this Wednesday, September 6 at 3pm.
