Men's Soccer battles Indiana Tech to 2-2 Draw

(Fort Wayne, IN) – Concordia men's soccer traveled to Indiana Tech on Wednesday evening for a WHAC matchup under the lights. The Cardinals battled the Warriors hard, taking the lead in the 80th minute, but a 90th minute goal ended the game in a 2-2 draw.

 

Kyri Wixom played a complete game in net, recording 3 saves. Indiana Tech scored first in the 5th minute, but the Cardinals quickly answered under 2 minutes later when Bryce Schaner scored with Ignacio Lopez drawing the assist. Concordia stayed on the attack with Schaner ringing a shot off the post, but the game stayed tied 1-1 at halftime.

Carter Kerbawy took a shot on goal early in the second half. Both teams traded chances and Concordia finally broke through in the 80th minute with a marker by Evan Lock which was assisted by Jan Lloveras Freix. However, the Warriors stayed on the attack and tied the game with just 40 seconds left to play. The contest would end in a 2-2 tie.

 

Concordia will return home this Saturday to host rival Siena Heights at 1pm.
