Men's Soccer drops home match against Goshen

(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia men's soccer hosted Goshen on Wednesday afternoon for a non-conference tilt.  The Cardinals fought back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to tie the game in the second half, but the Maple Leafs took the 3-1 win.

 

Kyri Wixom played a complete game in net with 5 saves.  Wixom made several early saves and Nicholas Kiafoulis took the first shot on net.  Goshen broke through in the 16th minute to take a 1-0 lead.  The rest of the half was a defensive battle with the Cardinals still trailing by a goal at halftime.

The Cardinals kept attacking in the second half and tied the game in the 58th minute when Ignacio Lopez scored with Carter Kerbawy drawing the assist.  The contest remained tied until the 75th minute when Goshen added a go-ahead marker.  The Maple Leafs held on to claim a 3-1 win as time expired.

 

Concordia will travel to Taylor for a night game this Saturday at 7pm.
