Men's Soccer downed on the road at Lourdes

(Sylvania, OH) – Concordia men's soccer traveled to Lourdes for a Wednesday afternoon WHAC matchup. The Cardinals bounced back from an early Lourdes goal to tie the game 1-1, but the Gray Wolves pulled away for a 5-2 win.

 

Kyri Wixom played the first half in goal, making 2 saves. Lourdes scored just 21 seconds into the contest, but the Cardinals recorded an equalizer when Clemens Gehlich scored with Lucas Anderson drawing the assist. Lourdes countered with 4 more markers in the half, taking a 5-1 lead at halftime.

Alex Brock tended goal for the Cardinals in the second half, notching 2 saves. Carter Kerbawy took an early shot on net as both teams settled in defensively. Concordia capitalized on a turnover in the 74th minute with Carter Kerbawy tapping the ball to Mitchell Kirn for an easy goal. Despite shutting out Lourdes in the second half, CUAA fell by a final score of 5-2.

 

Concordia will travel to Rochester this Saturday at 2pm.
