Women's Golf opens 2023 season at the Red Wolves Invite

(Richmond, IN) - The Women's Concordia Cardinals Golf team opened their 2023 Fall campaign at the Red Wolves Invitational hosted by Indiana University - East. The Cardinals wound up in ninth place following the two-day event. 

 

DAY 1 RECAP

The Cardinals finished the round with a score of 372, which at the time was the lowest in program history. 

 

DAY 2 RECAP

The Cardinal's second-round scores were a tad better as they finished at 370 which totaled a 742 score. The 370 is the Cardinal's lowest one-round score while the 742 is also the lowest score in the program's history. 

 

INDIVIDUAL RECAP

Callie Wabeke was the top Cardinal finisher as she would shoot 92 and 87 for a total score of 179. Rachel Yuhas finished four strokes back with a 91 and 92. Amelia Black finished with a score of 188 shooting a 96 and 92 respectively. The final two scorers for the Cardinals were Rachel Costello (196 total) and Elle Fritcha (198). 

 

Wabeke's 87 is tied for the 6th-lowest score in the program's history and her 179 is now tied for third. Yuhas' 183 is the fifth-lowest in the program. And Black's 188 is the 10th lowest in program's history.

The Cardinals will have a 16-day break before they host the Cardinal Classic on September 18 and 19 at the Washtenaw Golf Club in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
