Women's Golf rounds out season at WHAC Championships in 9th-place

(Augusta, MI) - Concordia Women's Golf hit the course for the final time in the 2023-24 season as they competed at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championships the past two days. 

 

The Cardinals finished the tournament in 9th place after ending with a score of 1,084. Their three scores for the rounds were 378, 359, and 347 respectively. 

 

The final round score of 247 is the lowest mark in program history, which is directly followed by the second round mark of 259 as the second lowest mark in program history. The 278 in Round 1 is the seventh-lowest mark.

 

The 3-round score of 1,084 is the lowest mark in program history for a three-round score. 

 

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS

Rachel Yuhas was the top golfer at the tournament for the Cardinals as she scored a 265, which included the third-lowest mark in program history with an 81 in the final round. She also scored 95 and 89 in the first two rounds. The three-round score is the fourth-lowest mark as well in program history. 

 

Callie Wabeke was the next golfer on the team, finishing three strokes behind Yuhas with a 268 overall. The 268 is the fifth-lowest mark in program history. Wabeke had scores of 95, 84, and 89 in the tournament. The score of 84 is the fifth-lowest mark in program history. 

 

Rachel Costello was the third golfer on the team with scores of 93, 91, and 89 respectively. Her final mark of 273 is the seventh-lowest mark in program history. 

 

The final golfer was Amelia Black who finished with a score of 278, which is the 10 lowest mark for the program. She recorded scores of 95, 95, and 88 respectively. 

 

TOURNAMENT RECAP

Northwestern Ohio took home another WHAC Championship after scoring an 897, winning by 40 strokes, throughout the three-round tournament. 

 

Sharifah Binyahya was the top golfer at the tournament after hitting scores of 73, 72, and 76 respectively for a total score of 221.
