Women's Golf hosts the Cardinal Invite

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Women's Concordia Cardinals Golf team hosted the Cardinal Classic over the past two days saw 9 teams compete and over 40 golfers compete as well. The Cardinals would finish in eighth with a score of 1137 throughout the three-round tournament. 

 

Siena Heights took home the team title for the tournament as they shot a score of 995. Bethany Nowak, who is from Siena Heights, won the individual title with a score of 237. 

 

DAY 1 RECAP

As a team, they were in eighth place following the first two rounds of the tournament with a score of 768. 

 

The 374 in round two is the third-lowest score in program history. 

 

DAY 2 RECAP

The final round of the tournament saw the Cardinals shoot a 369 which rounded out their total to a 1137 over the three rounds. 

 

The 369 is now the lowest score in program history for a single round. The total score of 1137 is the second-lowest three round score.  

 

INDIVIDUAL RECAP

Five golfers hit the links for the Cardinals in the tournament as Rachel Yuhas, Callie Wabeke, Rachel Costello, Amelia Black, and Elle Fritcha all competed. Wabeke was the top finisher for the Cardinals with a 24th-place finish, shooting a 274 and a one-round low of 80. Yuhas was a stroke back in 25th with 275. Costello and Black were a shot apart at 294 and 295 and Fritcha would shoot a 323. 

 

Wabeke's round three score of 80 is the second-lowest score in program history and her 274 is tied for fifth-lowest. Yuhas' 275 is the eighth-lowest score in program history. 

 

NEXT UP

The Cardinals head back to the course on Thursday when they travel to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).
