Women's Indoor Track and Field goes to Doug Hansen Invite

(University Center, Mich.) Concordia women's track and field traveled to University Center to compete in the Doug Hansen Open hosted by Saginaw Valley State University on Friday. 

 

On the field side, junior Sierra Stechebar (Rockford, MI) took third in the high jump, clearing 1.51m. Freshman Lena Korte (Clinton, MI) competed in the throws events, throwing a personal best of 11.61m in the weight throw, narrowly missing the school record. Korte also competed in the shot put where she threw 11.72m. 

 

The distance squad brought the action on the track. Freshman Chloe Gunter (Monroe, MI) opened her indoor season in the mile, running 6:22.84. She was joined in the mile race by senior Elizabeth Trent (Saginaw, MI) who crossed the line in a time of 6:17.79. Rounding out the track team was senior Lydia Schroeder (Napoleon, MI), who ran 2:54.89 in the 800m.
