WHAC Preview: Women's Track and Field ready for WHAC Championships this weekend

(Ann Arbor, MI) – The Concordia Cardinals women's indoor track and field team is getting ready for the upcoming Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference meet this weekend when it begins Friday afternoon.

Field Events

Concordia will see a couple of different Cardinals compete in the field events throughout the weekend. CUAA will see competitors in the High Jump, Shot Put, Weight Throw, and Triple Jump.

 

Competing in both the High Jump and the Triple Jump will be Sierra Stechbar where she has previously posted a jump of 1.51 meters in the High Jump and a Triple Jump score of 9.33 meters. 

 

In both the Shot Put and the Weight Throw events, Lena Korte and Quinn Stefanski will throw in each event. In the Shot Put, Lena Korte threw the sixth-best shot of the competitors with an 11.83-meter throw while also marking a throw of 13.22 meters in the Weight Throw. 

 

Track Events

Throughout the track events, seven different Cardinals will compete in five different events. 

 

The distance races will see Megan Espinoza compete in the 3000-meter race, Lydia Schroeder in the 1000-meter race, and Gabriela Porter in the 800-meter race. 

 

Concordia will also put out two relay teams, with one in each of the 4x800 meter relay and the 4x400 meter relay. In the 4x400 relay, the team of Elizabeth Trent, Chloe Gunter, Hope Renfer, and Stechbar will run the event. The final relay will see Schroeder, Gunter, Trent, and Porter all run in the 4x800 relay
