(Ann Arbor, MI) – The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference named their weekly player of the week honorees for Track and Field on Monday afternoon and Concordia's Julia Hirt was named the field athlete of the week. 

Hirt, a freshman, earned the honor after breaking the school record in the discus throw for the second consecutive week with a throw of 38.96 meters. Hirt placed sixth at the Golden Grizzles Invite this past weekend throwing the best throw of any NAIA school. The throw also marked the best throw by any WHAC thrower this season. 

Hirt and the Track and Field teams will be back in action this Thursday at the Don Kleinow Invite hosted by Siena Heights.
