WHAC Preview: Women's Track & Field hosts Conference Tournament

(Ann Arbor, MI) – The Concordia Cardinals women's outdoor track and field team will be hosting the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference meet this Thursday and Friday at the Thunder Sports Complex on campus.

Field Events

Concordia will see several different Cardinals compete in the field events throughout the next two days. CUAA will see competitors in the High Jump, Shot Put, Hammer Throw, Long Jump, Discus, Javelin, and the Triple Jump.

 

Competing in both the High Jump and the Triple Jump will be Sierra Stechbar where she has previously posted a jump of 1.51 meters in the High Jump and a Triple Jump of 9.95 meters. 

 

Hailey Stasiukinas will be participating in the long jump with her current top jump at 4.57. She will also be competing in Javelin with a 25.58 meter mark coming into the event. 

 

Also in the javelin will be Hayle Flowers who has the fourth best distance in the WHAC thus far with a 31.57 meter mark. 

 

Quinn Stefanski will throw in the shot put and hammer throw events with marks of 9.79m and 33.11m respectively.

 

Finally, in the discus throw the Cardinals will have Alyvia Hock, Hayle Flowers, Quinn Stefanski, and Julia Hirt competing. Hirt currently has the top throw in the WHAC with a 39.87 meter distance. 

 

Track Events

The Cardinals will run in the 4x800 meter relay with Maddy Ankoviak, Elizabeth Trent, Chloe Gunter, and Lydia Schroeder representing Concordia. 

 

Janae Turner will be the Cardinals lone representative in the 100 meter dash and Emily Belinsky will be the only Cardinal in the 100 meter hurdles. 

 

Gabby Porter will run in the 3000 meter steeplechase with her 13:02.66 time, which is currently second best in the conference. 

 

It will be Emily Belinsky, Hailey Stasiukinas, Hope Renfer, and Janae Turner running the 4x100 meter relay for Concordia. 

 

Chloe Gunter and Lydia Schroeder will be in the 1500 meter run with their times of 5:56.29 and 5:44.29 respectively. Schroeder will also be in the 800 meter run with her 2:46.86 time coming into the event. 

 

It will be Emily Belinsky and Hope Renfer competing in the 200 meter dash for Concordia. 

 

In the last event of the day, the Cardinals will have Hope Renfer, Sierra Stechebar, Janae Turner, and Chloe Gunter run in the 4x400 meter relay.
