(Ada, OH) Concordia women's track & field competed this weekend at the 2nd annual Mike Becraft Invitational hosted by Ohio Northern University finishing 9th as a team and bringing home several personal best marks.In the field events, senior Hayle Flowers (Waverly, MI) started her events off strong, taking 3rd in the javelin throw and tossing 31.39m for a personal best mark. She went on to compete in the shot put, throwing 9.61m for another personal best mark. Fellow thrower Quinn Stefanski (Freshman; Munger, MI) saw personal bests in two of her three events. Stefanski threw 31.17m in the hammer throw, 9.79m in the shot put and 24.86 in the discus throw. Freshman Hailey Stasiukinas (Wyoming, MI) took 8th in the javelin throw with a personal best toss of 25.58m and jumped 4.30m in the long jump. Jumping 9.57m in the triple jump for a 7th place finish was senior Sierra Stechebar (Rockford, MI). Stechebar also took 6th in the high jump, clearing 1.45m.On the track, graduate student Gabriela Porter (Quincy, MI) ran 13:02.66 in the 3,000m steeplechase for a 4th finish. Senior Elizabeth Trent (Saginaw, MI) saw a personal best in the 800m race, running 2:49.59. She went on to run 5:43.23 in the 1,500m race. Running in the same events was fellow senior Lydia Schroeder (Napoleon, OH) and freshman Chloe Gunter (Monroe, MI). Schroeder crossed the 800m finish line with a time of 2:51.45 and the 1,500m finish line at 5:58.35. Gunter ran 3:05.32 and 6:12.37 in the 800m and 1,500m races.Gunter also joined the sprints squad for the 4x400m relay. The relay included Hope Renfer (Northville, MI), Janae Turner (Eastpoint, MI) and Stechebar. The relay would run 4:47.00 for a 6th place finish. Additionally, Turner competed in the 100m dash, running 13.39, for a personal best time. Renfer competed in the 200m, running 27.87 for a personal best time. Senior Emily Belinsky (Beulah, MI) closed out the sprinting events running 17.52 in the100m hurdles, 13.55 in the 100m dash, and 27.33 for personal best time in the 200m dash.The Cardinals compete next at home for the Alumni Legacy Meet on April 29-30, 2022.
