Blaine Milheim named CoSIDA Google Cloud First Team All-District

CoSIDA Release

The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District baseball teams on Wednesday afternoon. Senior standout Blaine Milheim (SR/Eaton Rapids, MI) was selected as a member to the academic all-district first team.

Milheim voted in by Sports Information Directors from District 1 that includes 22 states. The first team features 12 student-athletes that were honored for the success on the field and in the classroom. In a long list of honors and accolades for Milheim this is the first time he's been recognized with this prestigious award.

Milheim's record breaking season was highlighted by a first team all-conference selection last week from the WHAC. Milheim has been a force to be reckoned with for all opposing teams throughout the season. The player of the year candidate is in the midst of a record breaking 37 game hit streak. Milheim lead the team and WHAC in batting average (.494), on base percentage (.579), runs scored (55), hits (78), stolen bases (33). Milheim became Concordia's all-time career hits leader earlier this season and currently totals 264. Milheim also received first team honors in 2018.

Milheim has been equally productive off the field during his time as a Cardinal posting a 3.35 cumulative GPA in Concordia's Haab School of Business. Despite a demanding schedule, Milheim has participated in Haab School of Business functions and has appeared on the Dean's List as well.

Milheim joins football player Tim Kohler, Amaan Payne, and Jay Koski as other Cardinals to receive first team all-district honors this year. Koehler was also selected as a member of the CoSIDA NAIA all-america team. Marshall Oetting was the last baseball player to named to the CoSIDA first team all-district after receiving his honor last season.

The 2019 Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District baseball teams have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. By being selected to the all-district team, Milheim will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot where final teams will be selected later this month.
