Baseball secures No. 5 seed in the NCCAA World Series

(Easley, S.C.) – The Concordia baseball team will make their second straight NCCAA World Series appearance this season. Prior to the 2017 academic year, Concordia rejoined membership in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) making the Cardinals eligible for post-season play.

After finishing the regular season 34-16, the Cardinals earned the No. 4 seed in the WHAC tournament before falling to No. 5 UNOH and No. 1 Indiana Tech in the opening round. Concordia will now travel to Easley, South Carolina as the No. 5 seed in the NCCAA World Series.

The Cardinals have been placed in Pool A, along with No. 1 Southwestern Christian University, No. 4 Hiwassee College, No. 8 Toccoa Falls College, and No. 9 Ecclesia College. The remaining teams in Pool B are No. 2 Bluefield College, No. 3 Warner University, No. 6 Trinity Christian College, No. 7 College of the Ozarks, and No. 10 Randall University.

The NCCAA World Series is set to take place from May 22 - May 25 with each team playing four pool games and the top two teams from each pool advancing to the semi-finals.
