Foerster and Maynard honored on CoSIDA All-America First Team

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the 2021 Academic All-America team on Friday afternoon. Seniors Andrew Foerster and Hunter Maynard were both named to the first team at the defensive line and linebacker positions respectively. 

 

The All-America team was selected from the 4 All-District region teams that were announced on November 18. In total 27 student-athletes were named to the All-America team and are honored for their success on the field and in the classroom. 

 

Foerster, senior from Swartz Creek, Michigan, is earning his first CoSIDA All-America honor after leading the Cardinals in sacks (9) and tackles for losses (14.5). Those marks were good for 11th and 29th in the NAIA respectively. He has accumulated a 3.50 GPA throughout his four years. Foerster was also honored with both NAIA and MSFA second-team selections.

 

Maynard, a senior from Plain City, Ohio, is also earning his first CoSIDA All-America honor while anchoring a Cardinals defense that was top-10 in the NAIA. Maynard ended the season with 100 tackles which were second on the team and with two interceptions which were third. Off the field, Maynard has been able to accumulate a 3.71 GPA. Maynard was also honored by the MSFA earning first-team honors. 

 

Foerster and Maynard now join Hunter Cox (2016), Jay Koski (2017) and Tim Kohler (2018) as Cardinal Football players to earn CoSIDA All-American honors.
