Football's DeGayner and Cagle earn Player of the Week honors

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Mid-States Football Association Mid-East (MSFA) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly players of the week on Monday afternoon. Seeger Degayner and David Cagle would earn honors this past week.

Seeger Degayner would earn MSFA Special Team Player of the Week honors, while David Cagle would earn NCCAA Defensive Player of the Week for their efforts in the win against Madonna last Saturday.

Degayner, a junior from Grand Blanc, Michigan, played a part on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball after scoring a touchdown both on offense and special teams. Midway through the third quarter, Degayner would score his third touchdown on kickoffs for an 84-yard score. In the first quarter, he was also able to pull in his team-leading sixth touchdown of the season. In total, he had 112 all-purpose yards.

Cagle, a sophomore from Allen Park, Michigan, saw his best performance of the year last season as he was able to lead the team in tackles with seven. In addition to the tackles, he was able to bring the Madonna quarterback down to the ground a total of two times for a total loss of 15 yards.

This is Seeger's third MSFA award this season, while also having won NCCAA earlier this season as well. This is the first time that Cagle has been honored by either association. Brandon Stewart and Casey Ruach have also won MSFA awards throughout the season, while Cagle joins Andrew Weimer and Degayner as NCCAA honorees this season.

The Cardinals return to Cardinal Stadium for the final time of the 2022 season, on Saturday, November 12th, as they will go up against the Cougars of Saint Francis (IN) with kickoff at 1 PM.
