Men's Basketball falls at WHAC leader Indiana Tech

(Fort Wayne, IN) – Concordia men's basketball went on the road at Indiana Tech on Saturday afternoon for a WHAC conference game.  The Cardinals came in 7-9 overall (2-7 WHAC) while the first-place Warriors entered 16-6 (8-2 WHAC).  CUAA kept the game close early but the Warriors rallied late in the first half and won 84-43.

Zac Clark led Concordia with 15 points.  Devyn Jones had a team-high 7 rebounds and finished second with 8 points.  Kip French was third with 7 points.

 

D'Angelo Stoxstill gave the Cardinals an early lead with a 3-pointer.  Kip French drove for a layup as the teams traded leads early.  Jayden Priddy and Matt Lockhart knocked down triples, trimming the deficit to 13-11.

Zac Clark scored inside and Kip French drained another 3-pointer to cut the Indiana Tech lead to 20-16 at the 8:35 mark.  Colton Ritsema also converted inside but the Warriors began to pull away as the half went on.  Zac Clark and Devyn Jones added inside baskets but Indiana Tech led 50-26 at halftime.

 

A free throw from Zac Clark gave the Cardinals their first second-half point.  Clark and Darren Mitchelson added layups to keep Concordia on the board.  Zac Clark and Devyn Jones continued to score layups, but Indiana Tech maintained their lead.

Kip French and Zac Clark added layups down the stretch as the half went on.  However, Indiana Tech was able to come away with the 84-43 win as time expired.

 

Concordia will head on the road this Monday, January 17 for a rescheduled game against UNOH.  Tip-off is set for 7:30pm.
