Men's Lacrosse drops game at UM-Dearborn

 

(Beverly Hills, MI) – Concordia men's lacrosse squared off against UM-Dearborn on Saturday afternoon in a WHAC matchup.  The Cardinals fought hard and took a 4-3 lead into halftime, but the Wolverines pulled away in the second half to claim a 13-6 win.

 

Sam Bowling started in net, making 10 saves.  UM-Dearborn struck first, but the Cardinals countered when Travis Wright scored the team's first marker.  The Wolverines scored a goal to take a 2-1 lead after the first quarter.

UM-Dearborn added another goal but Marcus Villagomez cut the deficit in half when he slipped around from behind the net and scored.  Blake Blaisdell tied the game with a snipe in front of the net and Andrew Simmons knocked in a rebound in the last second of the half.  CUAA held a 4-3 lead at halftime.

 

UM-Dearborn went back ahead with 4 goals in the third quarter.  Ryan Iles ended the run with a low shot that skipped into the net.  CUAA trailed 7-5 after the 3rd.

Andrew Simmons scored a powerplay goal to open the fourth quarter with Noah Sorenson drawing the assist.  However, the Wolverines were able to build on their lead and claimed a 13-6 win as time expired.

 

Concordia will play their next game on Wednesday, April 6 when they travel to Aquinas at 5pm.
