Men's Lacrosse falls at #5 Aquinas

(Grand Rapids, MI) – Concordia men's lacrosse went on the road to face #5 Aquinas on Wednesday afternoon. The Cardinals kept the match close early on with a 1-1 tie after the first quarter, but the Saints lived up to their billing with a 23-2 win.

 

Sam Bowling started in goal, making 22 saves. Aquinas scored in the first minute of play, but the contest settled into a defensive battle for most of the third quarter. Travis Wright eventually found the back of the net on the powerplay to tie the game 1-1.

Aquinas began to find their rhythm in the second quarter, building a double digit lead while keeping the Cardinals scoreless. CUAA trailed 13-1 at halftime.

 

Concordia converted on the powerplay in the third quarter when Evan Stuart scored a goal from the left side with Marcus Villagomez assisting. Jackson Saleh saw several minutes in goal late in the fourth quarter for the Cardinals, playing 3:12 in the contest. However, Aquinas maintained their lead and claimed the 23-2 win.

 

Concordia will return home this Saturday to host Taylor at 4pm.
