Three Cardinals recognized by NCCAA for All-Regional Honors

(Ann Arbor, MI) The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their regional women's basketball awards on Saturday and three Cardinals were recognized with All-Regional honors. Alize Tripp and Taylor Leatherman were both named to the NCCAA D1 Midwest All-Regional Team and Samantha Dorn was named an All-Regional Honorable Mention. 

 

Sophomore Alize Tripp led the Cardinals in with 13.4 points and 3.0 assists per game during the season, as the team went 19-12 (14-6) for their most overall wins since 2018 and most WHAC wins since 2013. The WHAC 1st Team All-Conference member finished 7th in the NCCAA in 3-point percentage, shooting at a clip of 39% during the year. 

 

Junior Taylor Leatherman finished the year with 8.8 points per game (2nd on CUAA) on 45.7% shooting and a team best 5.2 rebounds per contest. Leatherman also led Concordia with 37 steals on the season and had the 2nd most assists on the team with 56. 

 

Junior Samantha Dorn finished the year with a statline of 8.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, and added a team high 18 blocks during the season. Dorn recorded a career high 20 points along with 5 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block in the Cardinals' WHAC Quarterfinal round victory over Lawrence Tech last month.
