Women’s Bowling competes at the ISC and ITC Sectionals

(Addison, IL) - The Women's Bowling team headed to Addison, Illinois for their most recent competition at the Intercollegiate Singles Championships (ISC) and Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC) over the last three days. 

 

The weekend consisted of each bowler going six individual games with the top eight individuals moving on to the USBC Intercollegiate Singles National Championship in April. The team event, which took place on Saturday and Sunday, saw teams bowl 64 total baker games throughout the two days. The top four teams in this sectional will move onto the USBC Intercollegiate Team National Championship which is also in April. 

 

SINGLES RESULTS

11 total Cardinals would take the lanes on Friday for the singles portion of the sectional championships. Those that participated were Brooke Binder, Isabell Cooley, Amanda Fisher, Alyvia Hock, Emilee Hughes, Ashley Kreger, Emily Morris, Kyla Peterson, Bailey Tomlin, Gabriella VanHorn, and Kara Ward

 

The top finisher for CUAA was Hughes who finished in 10th place by narrowly missing out of the top by 21 pins. She would hit a total of 1186 pins. VanHorn was the next finisher with 1118 pins. 

 

Five other Cardinals bowled at least 1000 pins as Peterson (1098 pins), Ward (1089), Binder (1069), Tomlin (1038), Hock (1027), and Cooley (1006). 

 

The final three Cardinals to bowl were Morris (996 pins), Fisher (980), and Kreger (779). 

 

TEAM RESULTS

Saturday was the first day of the team rounds of the sectional championships. The team would bowl in 32 baker games on the day and would knock down a total of 5741 pins, which averages out to 179.4 pins. They would end the day in 13th place. 

 

On the second day of the team sectional championships saw the second 32 baker games to hit the total 64 games. After the 64th game the Cardinals had hit a total of 11384 pins for an average of 177.88 pins. The Cardinals ended the tournament in 15th place. 

 

SENIORS

Two Cardinals closed out their career as seniors Kara Ward and Alicia Hock took the lanes for the final time in their CUAA careers.
