(Dearborn, MI) - Concordia women's hockey wrapped up their weekend series at UM Dearborn on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals looked to rally from an early deficit with two goals later in the game, but the team fell 5-2.
Eva Kingston played the full game in net with 35 saves. The Cardinals had one powerplay chance in the first period, but UM Dearborn struck first and led 1-0 after the first period.
The Wolverines scored three goals in the third period to extend their lead. The Cardinals got on the board with 32 seconds remaining when Lauren Benoit tipped a shot by Grace Dodgson in the net for a goal. CUAA trailed 4-1 after the second period.
Mallory Collins fired a shot just wide of the net on a breakaway to start the third period. The Cardinals converted on the powerplay later in the period when Dylan Hubbard scored with assists from Julie McLaughlin and Skylar Croft. CUAA outshot the Wolverines 14-11 in the frame, but UM Dearborn came away with a 5-2 win.
Concordia will travel to Aquinas on Friday, November 15th, for their next contest at a game time to still be announced.
