(Fort Wayne, IN) - Concordia women's hockey traveled to #7 Indiana Tech on Friday night to begin a weekend series.  The Cardinals fought hard against a strong opponent but fell 6-1.  

 

Rose Lennon played a complete game in goal with 43 saves.  Grace Dodgson won the opening faceoff for the Cardinals, going 13-17 on faceoffs to lead the team. Indiana Tech started strong with three goals in the first period.  Sara Kaczmarek had the first shot on goal as the Cardinals generated multiple good chances on the power play.  However, Indiana Tech led 3-0 after the first period.  

 

Grace Dodgson won the opening faceoff in the second period.  Indiana Tech tacked on two more goals, but the Cardinals broke through in the final minute of the period.  Lauren Benoit jammed in a rebound off a shot by Sydney Orkisz to put CUAA on the board.  The Cardinals trailed 5-1 after two periods. 

 

Once again, Grace Dodgson took the opening faceoff in the third period.  The Cardinals had two power play chances early in the period as they looked to keep battling.  However, Indiana Tech claimed the 6-1 win as time expired.  

 

Concordia will host Indiana Tech tomorrow, January 11th, at 5pm in the Arctic Edge in Canton, Michigan.
