(Canton, MI) - Concordia women's hockey hosted #2 Adrian College on Friday night to begin a weekend series. The Cardinals kept the game close early on but eventually fell 7-0.
Rose Lennon played a complete game in net with 47 saves. Adrian struck first less than one minute into the game. Lennon stayed sharp throughout the period, making 23 saves including a key pad save during a penalty kill. Grace Dodgson and Nicole Koops had the best Cardinal scoring chances in the period. CUAA trailed 1-0 at the first intermission.
Adrian began to pull away with four goals in the second period. Both teams had one penalty in the period and CUAA faced a 5-0 deficit after two periods.
The Cardinals had another promising chance with a 5-on-3 power play in the third period. Rose Lennon continued to rack up saves in net. However, CUAA fell 7-0 as time expired.
Concordia will wrap up their weekend series at Adrian tomorrow at 12pm.
