Women's Tennis comes up short at Franklin

(Franklin, IN) Concordia Women's Tennis traveled to Franklin College for a nonconference matchup against the Grizzlies on Friday. The Cardinals were able to win three points, but ultimately fell short, 3-6 in the match.

 

 

Jadyn Hackmann and Payton Woodruff won the first point for the Cardinals in a hard fought #1 Doubles match. They would go on to win (8-7, 10-3). Elle Fritcha and Jorja Vartoogian also won their #2 Doubles match 8-3. Melanie Foucha and Sydney Orkisz took a pair of games in the #3 slot.

 

In singles, Elle Fritcha won the #1 Single match convincingly, by a score of (6-0, 6-2). Jadyn Hackmann nearly won the first set in her #2 Singles match, but fell (6-7, 1-7). Payton Woodruff took three games in #3 Singles (3-6, 0-6), while Jorja Vartoogian was swept in the #4 slot. Sydney Orkisz took two games in #5 Singles, and Melanie Foucha fell in #6 Singles (4-6, 2-6).

 

 

The Cardinals will be back in action on Tuesday with a match against Indiana Tech. The match is set for 12:30 at the Liberty Athletic Club in Ann Arbor.
