Cheer posts season high score in second place finish at Saints Showdown

(Grand Rapids, MI) Concordia Cheer headed to the west side of the state for a competition at Aquinas. The Cardinals posted their highest score of the season at the Saints Showdown, earning them second place at the event.

Concordia didn't receive an individual score total lower than 8.70, which led them to a subtotal of 92.23 points. A point in deductions brought them down to 91.23, making it their highest score of the year, by nearly a point and a half. The score put them in second place, only behind St. Ambrose who won the comp with 96.47 points.

"We had some specific goals after last week's competition, and we took a lot of time to review our films," said Head Assistant Coach Shanitra Cheff. "This gave us the motivation to use the judges' comments as guidance and make the required adjustments to get us closer to our next objective."

Next up for the Cardinals will be their WHAC Championship at Siena Heights on Sunday, March 10th. Concordia is set to perform first at 11:00 AM.

"Looking ahead in our schedule, we are both mentally and physically preparing to go in to our WHAC conference championship and represent CUAA in the best way we know how; utilizing our God-given talents to glorify his name."
