Cheer in fifth after first day of NAIA National Championship

(Ypsilanti, MI) The Concordia Cheer Team competed in the preliminary round of their eighth NAIA National Championship on Friday evening. The Cardinals earned an automatic bid to the NAIA Competitive Cheer National Championship after taking first place at the WHAC Championships on March 10th. They performed their preliminary routine and scored an 89.47 landing them in 5th place going into the final performance on Saturday.

 

Teams compete for the NAIA Championship with each team performing two routines. Friday's first routine will be the preliminary round which will count toward 25% of the overall score. Saturday's final round score will make up 75% of the overall score. In the event of a tie, the score from finals will be used to break the tie.

 

The Cardinals will be performing in the final round Saturday at 11:40 AM as the fifth-best score from the preliminary round.
