PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Cagle and Thomas earn Player of the Week honors

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) have announced their weekly Players of the Week and David Cagle and Caiden Thomas took home defensive and special teams honors for the MSFA Mideast, while Cagle earned MSFA & NCCAA Defensive Player of the Week.

 

Cagle, a senior from Allen Park, Michigan, tied a career-high in sacks against Siena Heights on Saturday with three. Two of Cagle's sacks stopped the Saints' drives with one of them closing the first half. He also led the team in tackles with seven. 

 

Thomas, a sophomore from New Baltimore, Michigan, provided the Cardinal offense the points they needed in the 9-0 shutout win over Siena Heights with a trio of field goals. He set a career-high in field goals made with his three. He hit field goals from 12, 27, and 35 yards out. He also set the program record with 10 field goals made in the year. 

 

Cagle earns his first MSFA Defensive Player of the Week honor, while Thomas wins his second straight Player of the Week honor. 

 

The Cardinal football team heads to Marion, Indiana for their next game against #3 Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday, November 2nd with a 12 PM kickoff.
