Eight Cardinals Named to CSC All-District Team

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The College Sport Communicators (CSC) released their 2024 Academic All-District winners on Tuesday afternoon and eight Concordia Cardinals were honored as they were named to the Football All-District Team. The eight Cardinals who were named to the team were Ethan Burrows, James Carpenter, Will Dowling, Colby Kohmescher, Chase Maynard, Logan Nahrwold-Settle, Tristen Needham, Ryan Robinson.

 

Ethan Burrows is a sophomore from Essexville, Michigan, and has a cumulative GPA of 4.0 while studying for an associate of arts degree. 

 

A graduate student from Livonia, Michigan, James Carpenter has a cumulative GPA of 3.58 while studying biomedical sciences. 

 

Will Dowling is a senior from Oak Harbor, Ohio, and has a cumulative GPA of 3.71 while studying both history education & special education. This is Will's fourth time being named to the CSC District Team (2021, 2022, 2023). He was also named a CSC All-American in 2023.

 

A senior from Linden, Michigan, Colby Kohmescher has a cumulative GPA of 3.71 while studying exercise science. This is the second time Kohmescher has received the award, as he was named to the CSC All-District team in 2023.

 

Chase Maynard is a junior from Plain City, Ohio, and has a cumulative GPA of 3.78 while studying for an associate of arts degree. This is Maynard's second time making the CSC All-District team, as he made the team in 2023.

 

A senior from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Logan Nahrwold-Settle has a cumulative GPA of 3.67 while studying business management. This is the second time he has received the award, as he was also named to the CSC All-District team in 2022.

 

Tristen Needham is a senior from Grove City, Ohio, and has a cumulative GPA of 3.86 while studying secondary education.

 

A senior from Jenison, Michigan, Ryan Robinson has a cumulative GPA of 3.50 while studying secondary education.

 

The 2024 Academic All-District Football Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes Football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

 

College Sport Communicators is a 3,200+ member national association for strategic, creative, and digital communicators across intercollegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. The organization was previously known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and was changed to its new name in August of 2022.

 

Nominees for the All-District team must have participated in at least 90% of the team's matches or have started 66% of team games throughout the season while also maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.50. The student-athlete must also reach sophomore athletic eligibility in order to qualify for the honor.

 

The eight Cardinals will now be placed on the ballot for CSC All-America consideration with those teams being released on January 28th, 2025.
