Cardinals face DI Eastern Michigan

(Ypsilanti, MI) The Cardinals concluded their out of conference break with an exhibition matchup against NCAA Division I opponent Eastern Michigan University. Eastern's Eagles walked away with a 88-53 home win while Thomas Hronis (JR/North Ridgeville, OH) posted 17 points for the Cardinals, sinking five triples.

Eastern came out of the gates with a full court press that forced errors from the Cards, and allowed the Eagles to score twelve straight before Thomas Hronis hit a triple from the left wing. Hronis would hit another after Jerald Booker (SR/Southfield, MI) fought for a shot in the paint, but the Eagle lead would grow quickly as they made shots from behind the arc and pounded the offensive glass. Hronis continued to find his stroke as he went into halftime already in double digits.

The second half featured the Eagles sinking more of their three pointers to increase their advantage. Booker and Hronis continued to be the Cardinals' best source of offense, making shots from the perimeter. Booker eclipsed the double digit mark as well with 13 on the day and Paul Zysk (SR/Somerset, MI) put up 10. Eastern finished the game with a score of 88-53.

Concordia will next take the court this Saturday when they travel to Aquinas College for a WHAC matchup. Tipoff will be at 3:00 pm in Grand Rapids.
