Men's Bowling Competes in WHAC Jamboree #4 and Scotty Classic

WHAC Jamboree #4 Recap

(Grandville, MI) – The men's bowling team participated in this season's 4th edition of the WHAC Jamboree in Grandville, Michigan, this past weekend. The Cardinals took to the lanes at Fairlanes Bowling Center and finished in 10th place out of the 12 teams that participated.

The jamboree featured three games and two bakers sets. The Cardinals scored a total of 849, 900, and 846 in their three games respectively and recorded scores of 904 and 861 in the baker sets. Kyle Lewis had the best outing for the Cardinals with his 18th place finish. Lewis progressively got better throughout the tournament as he scored a 159 and 176 in his first two games before rattling off an impressive 226 in his final match to bring his tournament total to 561. Korey Reichard finished closely behind his counterpart in Lewis and was able to register another top-20 finish with his 20th place finish in the tournament total of 551.

David Smalls kept pace with the Cardinals' leaders as he finished in 26th place with a total of 538 in a very consistent outing. Glen Rose finished with a tournament total of 463 while Brendan Gossman rounded out the Cardinals with 329 in the two games he bowled.

Lawrence Tech took home the hardware in this event with an impressive total of 4,959. Connor Wallis took home the top honors on the individual side of the tournament with 621 as he bowled over 200 in each of his three games.

 

Scotty Classic Recap 

(Jackson, MI) - The men's bowling team also participated in the Scotty Classic in Jackson, Michigan, on Sunday as well. The Cardinals finished in 6th place out of the 10 teams that participated. The tournament allowed each bowler to compete in three games.

Korey Reichard led the way for the Cardinals with his 5th place finishing score of 660. Reichard had a great day by bowling 221, 213, and 226 in his three games. Kyle Lewis also notched a top-10 finish to his resume as he finished with a total of 658 with an impressive first game score of 268. Korey and Kyle were also named to the  Glenn Rose cracked the top-15 with his 13th place finish and total score of 649. Brendan Gossman finished at 26th on the day with his 592 finish and two games over 200.

Patrick Good bowled in two games for the Cardinals with his total of 330. David Smalls took to the lanes for one game and racked up a 163.

Madonna earned the top spot on the podium in this match by edging out Trine University by only 4 pins with their total of 5,659. However, the Trolls' own Destin Kuhn earned the top honors on the individual side of the tournament with his total of 686.
