Gossman takes first place at American Heartland Bowling Association event

On Saturday, March 13th the men's bowling team took first place at the Bowling Green Falcon Classic hosted by Bowling Green State University. The event featured teams from throughout the midwest including top teams from the WHAC. 

Korey Reichard took place at the event with an impressive average of 263.5. His first two games he recorded scores of 279 and 267. 

Kyle Lewis also took home a top 10 finish taking 6th overall with an average of 229.25. His high score came in game three with a 249. 

Other finishers for the Cardinals included Brenden Gossman (219), Glenn Rose (191.5), and Patrick Good (201).

 

 

The men's bowling team participated in the American Heartland Bowling Association on Saturday and posted another strong team showing. After taking first place the week before at the Bowling Green Falcon Classic, the Cardinals kept the momentum going with a fifth place finish overall. Brenden Gossman highlighted the Cardinals performance with a first place finish overall.

 

Brenden Gossman continued his hot streak for the Cardinals with another strong finish. Through four individual games, Gossman totaled 867 pins for an average of 216.75. Gossman actually tied the second place but earned the tie-breaker with a higher score of 266 which he bowled in game one. Gossman's other game totals were 231, 175 and 195 respectively.

 

Glenn Rose supported Gossman's efforts with a top 10 finish as he placed 8th overall. Rose totaled a 797 for a 199.25 average. His daily high came in the first game where he posted a 222. Coming off his first place performance at the Bowling Green Falcon Classic, Korey Reichard posted another top 10 finish taking 10th overall. Reichard bowled a 258 in the first game leading to an average of 198.  Kyle Lewis just missed a top 10 finish placing 13th overall with an average of 195.

 

The tournament consisted of four games and then 12 baker sets. The Cardinals recorded a team score of 3909 after the individual games. The 12 game baker total was 2220 which gave the Cardinals an overall total of 6129.

 

LTU took home the team honors with an overall total of 6925.

 

Patrick Good and Jayce Suave rounded out the Cardinals scoring with averages of 173 and 154 respectively.  

 

The Cardinals will be back in action at another American Heartland Bowling Association event this Sunday, March 28th .
