Men's Golf opens Fall campaign at the Red Wolves Invitational

(Richmond, IN) - The Men's Concordia Cardinals Golf team opened their 2023 Fall campaign at the Red Wolves Invitational hosted by Indiana University - East. The Cardinals finished eighth throughout the two-round event out of twelve teams. 

 

DAY 1 RECAP

The Cardinals ended the first day in ninth-place shooting a score of 304, 18 strokes off of the lead. The team score of 304 was the lowest round in program history. 

 

DAY 2 RECAP

The Cardinals improved in their finish by moving a spot up in the final rankings to finish eighth. The Cards would shoot a 304 again to tie the program-low. 

 

INDIVIDUAL RECAP

Finishing in a tie for 14th-place was Zakary Schroeder who shot a 75 and a 72 for a total of 147. Neil Heinlein finished one stroke behind Schroeder as he shot a 76 and a 72. The third top-finisher for CUAA was Cam Barrett, who competed as an individual, with a 152 (75 and 77 respectively) total score. Andrew Sweitzer finished the event with a total of 156 while Brady Baldwin and Gibson Wilke ended with 160 and 162 respectively. The final finisher for the Cardinals was Dylan Ladmirault who competed as an individual, rounding out the scoring with a 172. 

 

Both Schroeder's and Heinlein's score of 72 is tied for the second-lowest score in program history.

The Cardinals will have a 16-day break before they host the Cardinal Classic on September 18 and 19 at the Washtenaw Golf Club in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
