WHAC CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP: Men's Golf rounds out 2023-24 season in 10th at WHAC Championships

(Augusta, MI) - Concordia Men's Golf hit the course for the final time in the 2023-24 season as they competed at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championships the past two days. 

 

The Cardinals finished the tournament in 11th place after ending with a score of 965. Their three scores for the rounds were 323, 327, and 315 respectively. 

 

The 315 final round score is the fourth-lowest mark in program history. The first-round score of 323 is tied for the 10th lowest. 

 

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS

Cam Barrett was the top golfer in the tournament for the Cardinals, scoring 232, including a 72 in the first round which is tied for the second-lowest in program history as well as having tying the third-lowest mark for a three-round score. Neil Heinlein was next on the scorecard with a score of 238 which is the 10th-lowest mark in program history, his low was a 75. 

 

Andrew Sweitzer was the third golfer for CUAA with a round low of 81 and a total score of 249. Zakary Schroeder was next with a total score of 253 and a low of 83. The final golfer was Gibson Wilke scoring a 259 overall with an 80 as his low round.

 

TOURNAMENT RECAP

Lawrence Tech took home their third-ever WHAC Championship after posting a score of 892 overall, beating out second place Northwestern Ohio by five strokes. 

 

The top golfer at the event was Luke Turner from Northwestern Ohio after scoring a 219 overall.
