Men's Golf competes at The Rupp

(Dearborn, MI) - The Men's Concordia Cardinals Golf team continued their fall season on Monday as they competed at The Rupp hosted by Spring Arbor University. The event was played at TPC Michigan in Dearborn, Michigan. The Cardinals would round out the tournament with a score of 676, which is the 10th-lowest score in program history. 

 

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS

Finishing first for the team was Andrew Sweitzer as he would end up in a tie for 13th place shooting a score of 161 through two rounds, with a low of 80. Neil Heinlein would not be far behind Sweitzer as he finished in a tie for 23rd place with a total score of 166. Cam Barret was next on the team with a score of 171 and a 44th-place finish. The fourth golfer on the team for CUAA was Zakary Schroeder as he would total 176 throughout the two rounds. The final golfer on the team was Chase Temple as he shot a 95 in the sole round he played. 

 

Two Cardinal golfers competed as individuals with Brady Baldwin and Gibson Wilke each taking part. Wilke would finish with a lower score between the two with a 176, while Baldwin ended with a 191. 

 

TOURNAMENT RECAP

The host team in Spring Arbor finished first overall at the tournament after shooting 18 strokes lower than the second-best team. The Cougars would shoot a 621 throughout the two-round event. 

 

Luke Fisher from Spring Arbor took home the lowest score at the tournament with a 148. 

 

NEXT UP

The Cardinals will close out the 2023 fall season at the Harbor Shores Intercollegiate at the Harbor Shores Resort in Benton Harbor, Michigan next week on October 16 and 17.
