Men's Lacrosse falls in season opener

(Williamsburg, KY) - Concordia men's lacrosse opened up their 2025 slate with a top eight matchup against #3 Reinhardt (GA). The Cardinals fought hard looking to overcome an early seven goal deficit, but the team fell 17-10.

Reinhardt opened up the game on fire, holding the Cardinals scoreless in the first quarter as they went up 7-0.

The Cardinals broke the shutout in the second quarter with a goal by Travis Wright. He then found the net again a few minutes later. Reinhardt would score two more goals to maintain their seven goal lead. The Cardinals would then score three straight times, from Spencer Guppy, Ryan Davis, and Cooper Regimbal, to put the game at 9-5. Reinhardt would score twice in the final two minutes, but another Travis Wright goal between them would put the score at 11-6 heading into the third quarter.

Reinhardt scored quickly in the third period off a goal from Luke Greer. Regimbal would then find the net twice more, including one off an incredible pass from Andrew Simmons to give the Cardinals back some momentum. Another goal from Ross Preston would cap the third quarter scoring and limit the Eagle lead to three entering the final frame.

Reinhardt came into the fourth quarter looking to regain momentum, and they did just that with four straight goals to go up 16-9. Spencer Guppy found the net once more before Reinhardt's Greer matched that in the final minute to end today's season-opener at 17-10.

Concordia will faceoff with Cumberlands tomorrow at 1:00pm in the same location.
