Joe Loria named the NAIA Defensive Player of the Week

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) have announced their weekly Player of the Week honors. Concordia Cardinal Joseph Loria was named the Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week following his performance in the win against #4 Indiana Tech.

Loria, a graduate student from Fenton, Michigan, started and played all 60 minutes in the Cardinals' upset win over #4 Indiana Tech, which they won 15-12, and had a record-breaking performance in between the pipes. Loria broke a WHAC and Concordia Men's Lacrosse record with 33 saves and had a 73.3% save percentage.

This is the first time Loria has won NAIA Defensive Player of the Week and the fourth award a Cardinal defender has won as Sam Bowling earned the honor twice and Sam Saje once. Blake Blaisdell, Hunter McCarty, and Devin Wolever have won on the Offensive end.

Loria and the Cardinals will be back in action twice this week with home games against #8 Aquinas on Wednesday and #RV Siena Heights on Saturday.
