(Williamsburg, KY) - #8 CUAA Men's lacrosse faced off against #3 Cumberlands (KY) on Sunday afternoon.  The Cardinals fought hard and kept the game close but Cumberlands pulled away for a 14-9 win. 

 

Michael Hart played a complete game in net with 13 saves.  Cumberlands took a 4-0 lead after the first quarter. 

 

The Cardinals fought back to tie the game in the second quarter with a pair of goals each from Travis Wright and Andrew Simmons.  After Cumberlands briefly retook the lead, Cooper Regimbal tied the game with an unassisted goal.  However, CUAA trailed 8-5 at halftime. 

 

Cumberlands struck first with a goal in the third quarter. The Cardinals responded when Andrew Simmons completed his hat trick with Ross Preston assisting.  Simmons added a powerplay goal and CUAA trailed 9-7 after the third quarter. 

 

Cumberlands extended their lead with three goals to start the fourth quarter.  Ryan Davis ended the run with a goal and Travis Wright later completed his hat trick. However, CUAA fell 14-9 as time expired. 

 

CUAA will play next Webber International in Westfield, Indiana, on Thursday, February 13th at 11am.
