Men's Soccer falls 2-0 at UM-Dearborn

(Dearborn, MI) - Concordia men's soccer traveled to UM Dearborn on Wednesday night, playing under the lights at Crestwood High School.  The Cardinals outshot the Wolverines 18-11, but UM Dearborn emerged with a 2-0 win. 

 

Kyri Wixom played a full game in net with three saves.  The Cardinals attacked the net early with shots on goal by Clemens Gehlich and Ethan Krupansky.  Bryce Schaner also generated a scoring opportunity, but UM Dearborn struck first with a goal in the 28th minute.  CUAA's best chance of the half came in the 38thminute when Elijah Macke took a pass in front of the net and fired a shot just wide.  The Wolverines added another goal and led 2-0 at halftime. 

 

In the second half, the Cardinals continued to fight with Mateo Nabben and Carter Kerbawy nearly jamming in shots in front of the net.  Both teams traded offensive rushes with the Cardinals continuing to work the ball near the Wolverine net.  Carter Kerbawy had a shot and a corner kick later in the half.  However, UM Dearborn came away with a 2-0 win.   

 

Concordia will travel to Lawrence Tech this Saturday, September 21st at 7pm.
