Men's Soccer earns 1-1 draw at Lawrence Tech

(Southfield, MI) - Concordia men's soccer played under the lights at Lawrence Tech on Saturday evening.  Despite being outshot 15-2, the Cardinal defense held strong and the team secured a 1-1 draw.  

 

Kyri Wixom played a full game in net with ten saves.  The Cardinals weathered an early attack from Lawrence Tech, but the Blue Devils converted with a goal in the 32ndminute.  CUAA looked to counter with Jan Lloveras Freix taking a shot on goal.  CUAA trailed 1-0 at halftime.  

 

The Cardinals earned a corner kick off the foot of Marcello Pinterpe early in the second half.  CUAA continued attacking and broke through in the 66thminute when Mateo Nabben scored off an assist by John Clark The Concordia defense had to stay sharp with Kyri Wixom making five more saves in the remainder of the game.  The contest ended in a 1-1 draw.  

 

Concordia will return home this Wednesday, September 25th, to host University of Northwestern Ohio at 3pm.
